Living the Life of Champions

Perry Swallow posted on social media (right). Many Class of 1975 members played on this championship team. Great athletes and coaches. Outstanding champions ... RAMS: Right Attitude Means Success !!!

"I believe sports has helped shape me into a man. It has taught me the importance of brotherhood to my teammates. Our brotherhood taught me desire and compassion to win. And win we did during our tenure as classmates of our high school years. We left a football legacy behind us as we went out and shaped the world together ❤️ in our individual pursuits." [Perry Swallow, 8.13.24]

UPDATE 9.21.24 Although I recently posted this complimentary Life Story about Perry, I made a mistake. Perry violated his own terms of "brotherhood." He lied to a friend. Gaslighted me when I asked him about the discrepancy ... and then BLOCKED a friend of 50+ years for exposing the deception ... while PREACHING about Mormon values. Perry's behavior is a stain on the Mormon church and members! See the Social Media post at right.

Perry Swallow believes "sports helped shape me into a man"

Perry posted a LDS Mormon message from church president Russell M. Nelson. I commented. Perry responded and we began a friendly chat. Perry had EDITED his comments, "I made no mention of politics." Simple statement. Why would anyone care? Perry apparently did.

Perry LIED to me, "I made no edits — what did I edit? Scott are you okay." Facebook records edits. Perry lied. Perry then "gaslighted me" — "Scott are you okay." That's like the narcissist husband BEATING DOWN his wife when she questions him about having an affair. The narcissist turns the conversation around and ridicules the honorable woman. Perry then BLOCKED me; ended a 50-year friendship — for what? Perry isn't a peacemaker. And, this behavior exposes the Disease of Don Trump ... who incessantly lies and divides Americans: proving what I said to be true in my original comment:

TRUE disciples Build, Lift, Encourage, Persuade and Inspire ... no matter the situation. This is an election year. The male candidate BEATS DOWN Others, Insults, Ridicules, Intimidates and Fails to Encourage.

Perry Swallow Lies to a friend; gaslights the friend; then BLOCKS the friendship. Not a peacemaker

Living a Life of New Openings

Jeff Brennen asked about modifying the reunion format recently on social media: "Why can't we break the mold. We could have a Poky < Highland reunion. TOGETHER. Pop

Kristene Thomas Lindsay responded, "Scott Goold, the class of 71 does it together. At this age we aren't rivals, we have lots of fun sharing memories and friends. They are a lot of work, with a bigger turnout.

Patrick Nance wrote, "For our four high school 50th reunions, I wanted to propose a joint effort with all four schools meeting on Saturday night at the Boise Center or somewhere with adjoining meeting/ballrooms. Each school could do an individual event and then at a certain time, the air walls would be rolled back and all four schools could intermingle since we were all friends in Boise. Then on Sunday, each school could do whatever. That went over like a turd in a swimming pool and I realized that, 50 years later, the same old rivalry crap was going on!"

Jeff Brennen remembers how, "Around 40 years ago myself and a lot of great friends opened the first Chart House Restaurant in Boise Idaho. It has long since closed but the memories live on through us all. Val Garcia her husband Larry Leoni and I were invited to Ling and Louie's practice night ahead of their grand opening. The restaurant has returned to its grandeur. No more picnic table crab at Joe's. It's beautiful and the food was fabulous. Good luck to their Mgmt and Staff. Wonderful job. Please check it out you'll love it."

Jeff loves discussing politics: February 28, 2024: "I am tired. Who should I vote for? Will it matter? There are three branches: Legislative, Judicial, and Executive, all of which are fighting to overrule the other."

February 1, 2024: "Delbert Warner will tell you. I don't comment often on political issues. I watched an episode of Frontline. It was named 'Democracy on Trial.' This man is Evil."

January 24, 2024: "Mr. Rishe. Isn't my Senator. Neither is Mr Crapo. As Mr. Rishe was elected as Prosecuting Attorney in Ada County he knows the law. To see him support a person that has many many criminal indictments is beyond me. I feel that I'm not represented. Maybe I'll head out on a crime spree and get Jim Rishe to represent me. He doesn't understand the facts. Nor look at what has been shown. Oooooops. He is busy doing absolutely NOTHING. Guess I'll go to Mr, Crapo. Oooooooops he's out hiding his drinking. I can't even remember my Rep in the house. I'm sure it's a low level looser. We're in trouble."

Jeff loves sports. March 12, 2024: "Searching all my T-Shirts for a ISU. Let's go Bengals!! ESPN 2. 9:00 pm. Sleep when your dead!" Shared a memory about Willie Mays:
My first MLB game was in SF. My dad got the great seats behind home plate from a scalper. It was 1973. Willy Mayes was a Met. Oh my. I saw him get a base hit. For a great introduction to the Stick I sometimes wonder why I became a Cleveland fan. That's Baseball. Thank you Willie!

CHATTED WITH JEFF: Come to Hawai'i when you get a chance. Would love to see you. We'll make some unforgettable memories. Thanks again. Aloha !!!

Scott Goold, I've been and worked there. Hired many of the natives. Hated every minute of it. They considered me a HOLI. Even though they all applied for a job and were qualified. Living a Life Envious of Scott Goold

Jeff Waldron stepped down from the initial planning committee, May 22, 2024, yet continues refusal to transfer the Class of 1975 Facebook Page. This obstruction causes Reunion 50 committee to fail their mission to you. We are working to retrieve your resources and allow you the opportunity to vote. We provide this history for background.

About mid-April, I received a request from a former classmate to begin planning for the Class of 1975 50th reunion. I reached out to Jeff Waldron. We have been connected on social media for about ten years. Wasn't super close to Jeff in high school. To be honest, I was closer to his father. What an amazing man and human being. Looking back, believe I understand why his father was so supportive of me — I was the son he wished he had. Jeff has always been an underachiever.

Basketball mattered to me. My family was relatively poor and needed me to earn a college scholarship. Encouraged me 100%. I studied hard in school and put every possible moment into bettering my game. Jeff was the opposite. Jeff was in fact one of the laziest guys on our team — last to practice, first to leave. Never put in overtime. In fact, in our three years of high school, can't remember Jeff showing up for pickup games or extra training.

Jeff had decent athletic skills. We first played together in youth leagues. I worked hard; he was lazy and sluffed off. I improved. By my sophomore year, local media labelled me, "Super Soph." I was first sophomore in school history to not only make the Varsity squad; I started and was a leading scorer. Jeff hadn't improved much in a decade.

Jeff was a second-stringer on our teams. He played when we were up by 20 points or so. He was practice fodder; not ready for prime time. I respected all my teammates, and in fact, always considered Jeff a friend. Learned he wasn't my friend at all. Jeff has been harboring hatred and animosity toward me for some 49 years. Seriously! This punk-ass bitch has pretended to be my friend, while hating on me behind my back. Talk about a creepy motherfucker!!!

Not long ago, I invited and encouraged Jeff to visit me in Hawai'i. Suggested he come have some fun and I would teach him to surf. Jeff better not come to Hawai'i now. He has BAD JUJU energy around him. Sharks can smell that shit. He's shark bait in Da Wata. I wouldn't hang with him out here. Bad News Bears!!!

Jeff claims he's angry with me, 49 years later, because I didn't say "hi" to him when exiting a college basketball practice around October 1975. Believe that shit? Talk about petty, childish and immature emotions. "You didn't say hi to me!" Kind of hilarous, right?

Jeff said he was trying out for the ISU JV basketball team. I played with those guys my freshman year. Played center position in high school. Had to transition to guard at the college level. Was challenging! I sucked badly at first. Didn't even make the traveling squad (Top 12) first semester.

Coach Killingsworth played me on the JV team to sharpen my guard skills and outside shooting. Made the traveling squad second semester. Started at guard the next year — ISU's greatest team in history. Hard work! Jeff could not play with those guys. He wasn't college JV or varsity timber. All of us were serious ballers. Jeff was simply too lazy and soft.

Apparently Jeff now blames me for his failure. Jeff has appropriated the Class of 1975 Facebook page and refuses to transfer control to Reunion 50 committee. Jeff stole my intellectual property from this website, and uses the material unlawfully on his Facebook project. Like in high school, Jeff remains an underachiever who takes the credit of others. What a fuckin' dick!

Jeff claims to be Mormon — Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. HaHa!!! Saint? Satan is more appropriate. Jeff has frustrated progress to brings smiles and memories to some 440+ classmates, spouses and family. He's one of The Destroyers — selfish, childish and egotistical chumps

Jeff unethically copied my property, continues efforts to frustrate reuniting our class, and ended our questionable friendship. I'm certain his father is not smiling down on him from Heaven. Jeff shames his father. May Lloyd Waldron rest in love.

Jeff Supports Trump and Loves Talking Politics

These scam trials against President Trump are convoluted. Kangaroo court, ruining our justice system. The Marxist Socialist Democrat party is hell bent to fundamentally change our beautiful country. They are afraid of losing the power over "We The People". They are destroying our country! 20% inflation, fuel is at $4.01 gal, interest rates are at a 40 year high. Young adults can not purchase a starter home. And are stuck renting apartments for $1800.00 The Marxist Socialist democrats are trying to buy votes by paying off student loans, make marajauna legal, giving illegal boarder crossers free housing, free food, free healthcare. And the right to vote.

President Trump is leading in the polls all over the beautiful country. God will bless us with a WIN! [5.21.24]

Good to hear from you, Jeff. You wrote, "Young adults can not purchase a starter home. And are stuck renting apartments for $1800.00." How can society reduce PRICES of homes or apartments without "Marxist Socialist" controls, as you call them? What do you recommend?

Jeff Supports Trump and Loves Talking Politics

Scott, first of all the Green New Deal is a farce. Biden shut down our domestic energy production. Costing the American people to paying higher costs on everything we consume. EVERYTHING!

Apparently you're not aware, Jeff, that US oil production is at ALL TIME HIGH, higher than under Don; second, the USA now leads the world is oil production.

Scott, have you went to the grocery Store to purchase groceries for a family of 5? It’s really expensive. Fill up your car to go to work is expensive. Building materials are 40/50% higher than in 2020. This is just some of the cost families have to deal with. Trucking and transportation costs are skyrocketing. This is why people can’t buy a home.

Yes, Jeff. Costs are high — even higher in Hawai'i and wages are lower here. Yet to me, I consider our family one of the luckiest in the world. We live in a great city, amazing Aloha state and are blessed to be Americans. Millions pound at our door each day to get in. I'm truly thankful to live in the USA.

Scott, the American people know that Joe is a tool! The American people will vote Barrack Husain Obama’s puppet Joe Biden and his Marxist Socialist Democrats out!

Yes, pandemic fueled in inflation. Governments around the world injected trillions of dollars into their economies ... you blame Biden. If you were accurate, just USA would suffer inflation. World suffers. And USA has the LOWEST inflation of the developed nations; and HIGHEST GDP of the developed nations. By those measures, Joe Biden is doing an excellent job.

However, you still did not answer my question about housing prices. How can society reduce PRICES of homes or apartments without "Marxist Socialist" controls, as you call them? What do you recommend?

I hate Scott Goold. He didn’t
say hi to me in 1975!

Living a Life On The High Seas

Classmate Susan Mattivi-Gierga and husband Peter retired September 2022, moved back to their home in Bend, Oregon, where they have lived in a house, like normal people, for years now. After living onboard Penelope for over 15 years, it was a transition. Microwave? Dishwasher? Private showers? Streaming? It was a fun and exhilarating time which included some yardwork and and a certain amount of snow removal.

Susan recalls that it was a long and snowy winter: When nice weather arrived late in April, we decided to sail Penelope to British Columbia, Canada and take a look around.

Susan and Peter enjoy a breathtaking sunset

Susan and Peter enjoy a breathtaking sunset

I found it’s just as hard to prepare for vacation when you are retired as it is when you are working. There are numerous logistical tasks to be completed before departure. One must stop the mail, stop the wifi and the garbage. Procure lawn care. Empty the pantry and the refrigerator. Give the plants to a neighbor. Clean the house from top to bottom.

Peter had his share of tasks, also. Reinstall the sails, change the oil and transmission fluid, inventory tools, spare parts, emergency provisions, and sand and varnish the top cap, sides, and rub rail.

Bend to Portland

If it weren’t for my very young and very beautiful friend, Cynthia, who volunteered to drive the hellish, arduous drive from Portland to Bend to fetch us, it would have been two times the trip with me in a rental car hating it. Thank you Cynthia!

It was deja vu. Cynthia helped us September 1, 2014 to leave McCuddy’s in Portland for our first trip south along the Oregon/California coast to Mexico.

The Bar Crossing

Columbia River Bar? No problem. Leaving before daylight, just waking up, I can’t say I noticed until the movement began to settle down. I looked out the companionway and saw we were safely across.

Peter preparing for an ocean adventure

The routine comes very natural. We’ve done this so many times. Always in motion, either casual or intense or somewhere in between. Someone at the helm, watching front, back, off to the horizon. Waiting to get there. Enjoying the ride.

Either the engine runs or the sails go up. Preferably we are able to sail, resulting in profound peace and quiet. It takes about 10 knots of wind, from the right direction to get us moving along respectfully. We have a 3 nautical mile per hour rule. If we are not moving at least 3 nautical miles per hour we fire up the engine.
[CONTINUED on right]

It’s probably 60/40 we are able to sail or have to motor. Either way, I have hours to clean, read, sleep, knit, text friends or check the news online.

Penelope is in motion. She rocks side to side, front to back at the same time. Whether I am to stand, walk around, do things or must I sit down and stay quiet until the wind, swell, waves, chop or otherwise unruly sea-state quiets down is completely out of my hands.

Susan Rockin to eat her Captain Crunch

Susan Rockin to eat her Captain Crunch

Sailing through the night is an adventure. Noon turns to afternoon; afternoon turns to evening; evening turns to total darkness and the red courtesy lighting comes on. Either Peter or I are at the helm until the sun comes up and Penelope is still in motion.

The Strait of Juan de Fuca

The Strait of Juan de Fuca is a body of water not to be messed with. We were anchored in Neah Bay and the forecast was for “gale force winds.” Doesn’t sound like a condition we want to approach. We waited three or four days and the winds were diminishing from gale force to something less so we decided to leave for Port Angeles, WA.

It’s almost always calm in the morning; typically the wind picks up in the afternoon. Depending on how long it takes to get to your destination determines how much wind you will encounter. It’s 53 miles from Neah Bay to Port Angeles. At 5 – 6 mph it takes at least 8+ hours.

Susan and Peter fishing for a dinner catch

Susan and Peter fishing for a dinner catch

Late in the afternoon the wind was soring. We saw 35 knots on the wind anemometer. Peter had rigged three reefs in the mainsail through the afternoon as the wind picked up. As we rounded the corner, approaching Port Angeles, we expected the wind to calm inside the bay. This was not the case. We were both holding on tight, watching Penelope buck and give way, roll and reposition upon the breaking waves. Not knowing what else to do, Peter found a spot at the far, north end of the bay, hidden behind a highway embankment. While he was hanging from the bow, lowering the anchor I had to give her gas just to keep her facing into the wind and not drifting back, until the anchor was set.

Once the anchor was down, all was quiet – down below. We took a break to regroup and rest before we replaced the sail cover and turned off the instruments. Even though the wind was howling 25+ just outside, the water was still, protected from fetch. It was quite comfortable, and Penelope was smiling ear to ear.

Living a Life in Pursuit of Tolerance

Aloha Class of 1975 ... Happy 420 !!!

Scott Goold was in Pocatello 2015 due to his mother's passing. She died from alcohol addiction. Didn't consume much alcohol during her life. Loneliness of retirement led her to drink more heavily. More women today are abusing alcohol with deadly consequences. Scott tells his Life Story.

I certified with UNM School of Medicine to assist people with addiction 2010. Our focus was keeping people off opioids, as well as alcohol. One alternative is cannabis.

Met with Kathie (Williams) Chase in 2015. She's a lifelong friend who unintentionally shamed me, expressed dismay that I recommended cannabis. Others called me "pot head" or "stoner."

Kathie (Williams) Chase and Scott Goold

Bestest Friends at HHS: Kathie (Williams) Chase & Scott Goold

Medical or recreational use was illegal in Idaho at the time. Mormon church opposed. Church has softened views about medical use today — become more tolerant. Not with recreational use. Idaho has not softened at all. Idaho still threatens to put people like me in prison!

Working to End the War Against Americans

First began my work to reform cannabis policy in the late 90s. My criminal justice research showed New Mexico had imprisoned about 25% of inmates, mostly male, due to simple possession. Give a young man, generally Black or Brown, a felony, they never get a professional job the remainder of their life. Cannabis prohibition IS creating MILLIONS of criminals in this nation.

Republican NM Gov Gary Johnson used my research to call for legalization in 2000. Democrats ridiculed us. We lost. NM Democrats however legalized cannabis use in 2022. Nothing changed in the science. Simply took that long for society to become more tolerant. Cost the state and taxpayers BILLIONS !!!

In 2006, was assigned to work with an adorable, bright and talented coworker. Alicia was hugely popular, respected and loved; about 35 with two children: girl around 9; boy about 7.

Alicia had terminal cancer. She wasn't going to make it. She knew. Her family knew. We all knew. Alicia needed to work; needed the money. Alicia also needed healthcare insurance to battle her aggressive cancer.

Alicia was very sick. We worked daily. Mon, Tue, Wed AM ... difficult, but we made progress. Wed PM was chemo treatment. Thurs and Fri AM Alicia too sick to come in; too sick to eat; too sick to sleep much. She tried to return Fri afternoon. Her pain was unbearable.

Sometimes Alicia would scrunch up, tighten as a wave of pain hit her. What can you say? "Hey, how you doing?" ... I'm dying!!!

We didn't ask about her progress. She didn't talk about it. We all knew. Most courageous person I've ever known.

In those moments of pain, I would simply reach out and grab her hand. Just held it gently. All the comfort I could provide ... believe it helped somewhat. Never have forgotten how her eyes looked at me compassionately and thankfully — yet filled with pain.

People recommended Alicia use medical cannabis for pain, to increase appetite and to help her sleep. The medical world had accepted cannabis was helpful.

Alicia refused. She didn't want to be a CRIMINAL in front of her children. She simply carried her cross in silence ... with the sparking light in her bright eyes dimming more each day.

Alicia soon had to stop working. Died later than year. Devastated ALL OF US !!! Still today, I cry writing this story. New Mexico politicians denied Alicia medication that would have eased her pain. What would Jesus do, I asked at the time? [CONTINUED on right]

Worked my HHS A$$ off after than to change the POLITICAL world. We were able to legalize medical cannabis the next year — too late for Alicia, sadly. Too late for millions of Americans.

Justice Dept to Reschedule Cannabis as Lower-Risk Drug
VICTORY !!! Historic Move That Acknowledges medical benefits of long-criminalized drug and carries broad implications for cannabis-related research. Change meets three criteria. Cannabis has a lower potential for abuse than other substances on Schedules I and II; is currently accepted for medical treatment in US; and risk of low or moderate physical dependence in people who abuse it. National Institute on Drug Abuse concurred with the recommendation.

"Criminal records for marijuana use and possession have imposed needless barriers to employment, housing, and educational opportunities," President Joe Biden said. "Too many lives have been upended because of our failed approach to marijuana. It's time that we right these wrongs."

Government's Cruel Deception about Cannabis

When we graduated in 1975, Idaho had an anti-cannabis policy; still does. The Mormon church also did. The Church has changed their position on medical cannabis, but remains somewhat intolerant.

I have much respect for the Church. In our day, the Church denied Black men the priesthood. The Church changed. The Church didn't allow women to go on a mission. The Church changed. Coached for years at BYU. The Church denied caffeine. Couldn't get Coke, Pepsi, coffee, even tea. The Church changed.

Today, a majority of Americans live in a state with legal medical and recreational cannabis. Canada is fully legal; Mexico is fully legal. Germany just fully legalized last month.

My dear friend Kathie was uncomfortable having this discussion in 2015. She's always loved me as a classmate and friend. She knew me as a non-drinking, clean cut athlete. How can you use cannabis? her eyes told me. She's an incredible human being: loving, caring ... deeply compassionate. Her Church and society still warn about cannabis. What a paradox for her.

Still today, I do not drink alcohol. Tried to get my mother to switch to cannabis over alcohol. She would not have died. She was afraid of the stigma. When considering the 50th Reunion, class planners prepare for alcohol consumption. They know some people will smoke tobacco. They, and the State of Idaho, still are not tolerant of cannabis use.

I have never smoked a cigarette or used tobacco in any form. Like my coworker Alicia, I sought cannabis to help me with my pain. BigPhRMA medications made me sick or were ineffective.

Scott Goold many surgeries and uses medical cannabis

Scott Goold had many surgeries. Medical Cannabis helped recovery

Cannabis More Safe & Effective than Opioid Medications

Ann Jesse Driever mentioned to me that she needs major back surgery. DRs will likely prescribe opioid medication. Opioids slow recovery. They can easily addict. Millions of lives have been destroyed due to opioids. You're all aware today of the opioid fentanyl. Just a speck the size of a grain of rice can kill a person.

Cannabis doesn't kill. Our endocannabinoid system accepts THC, CBD and works effectively. But cannabis cuts into profits of BigPhRMA, alcohol and tobacco interests.

Cannabis prohibition funds prisons and secret law enforcement groups. They like the money. Cannabis prohibition also funds criminal drug dealers, mafia and cartels. Legalization takes this money from bad elements and funnels resources to business and government coffers.

To this day, the US federal government DENIES ALL research on cannabis. Republican Nixon created this criminalization in 1970 ... he wanted to infiltrate the rising Black Panther movement and oppress Vietnam anti-war protestors (Hippies). By saying they could smell it, law enforcement could violate civil rights.

HHS trained us to CHANGE the world, to be INNOVATIVE and CHALLENGING thinkers and leaders.

Yes, I support cannabis legalization for Idaho and this nation. We lost again this year in Hawai'i. Former Republican Gov Linda Lingle said, "It's a risk we cannot afford to take."

Republicans used to stand for FREEDOM and TAKING RISK. What happened to tolerance and courage in Idaho? Times certainly have changed !!!

Happy Aloha 420 !!!

Living a Life Caring for Others

When I first reconnected with Ann (Jesse) Driever, she was preparing for major surgery ... "So sorry. When you sent the text I was in Physical Therapy. After 25 years of taking care of Jim and lifting him daily and 33 years working for FedEx with heavy lifting my back has finally given out. Will have surgery on it soon."

Ann provided background about our HHS classmates who have been carrying the Class of 1975 Reunion Torch. Let's thank all: "Roy Allen and Cheryl his wife, Suzanne Price, Kathy Williams, Bob Brown and myself have been the core team putting together all of the reunions. We have been in contact with each other and will hopefully meet soon. Jeff Waldron, Susan Gierga and Greg Burke have also shown interest in helping. I will keep you posted as to what is going on. Surfs up. lol."

Ann (Jesse) Driever does not care about classmates at this time. She stepped down from committee chair position, May 22, 2024. Refuses to pass formal authority and Class of 1975 funds to the Class President. Ann obstructs Reunion 50 committee from making progress toward holding a vote on reunion format and agenda.

Bobby N Whitney Endo posted on Facebook (4.26.24) that Ann "made it through like a champ! They were able to fix what they needed to without having to put any hardware in. Hopefully this will help the recovery process be a little easier. She will be staying in the hospital tonight and then with me for a few days so I can keep an eye on her (gonna be a full time job holding her down 😂)"

Speedy Recovery, Ann! Please start caring for your classmates.
